Barclays US Consumer Bank has announced the launch of its fourth annual Small Business Big Wins promotion, offering $255,000 in prize money to small business owners. The initiative invites entrepreneurs to submit a 500-word essay detailing how their businesses are adapting to current economic conditions. The most compelling story will receive a grand prize of $60,000.
Angelo Disperati, Director of US Branded and Business Cards at Barclays US Consumer Bank, emphasized the significance of community involvement for successful businesses: “Over the past four years we have heard countless inspiring stories of resilience and perseverance from small businesses across the country,” he said. “As we’ve seen from previous winners, the most impressive stories are from businesses that have made good corporate citizenship a key element of their business model."
The submission period ends on March 4, 2024. Ten finalists will be chosen, and public voting will occur between April 8 and April 19. Besides the top prizes, all qualifying entries will be entered into a random drawing for one of 50 sweepstakes prizes worth $2,000 each.
To participate in this contest, businesses must meet specific criteria: they must be for-profit entities owned by U.S. residents aged 18 or older, established before February 4, 2023; employ fewer than 100 people; and have an annual revenue not exceeding $10 million.
Winners will be announced during National Small Business Week in early May. For more details on participation rules and requirements, interested parties can visit BarclaysSmallBizBigWins.com/Rules.
