SoFi, a digital personal finance company, has announced that its SoFi Invest platform will provide a 2% match on eligible IRA contributions until April 15, 2024. This new offer is an increase from the previously announced 1% match and aims to help members enhance their retirement savings during tax season. The IRA match applies to all new ACH transfers into IRA accounts.
The company's Midyear Investor Report 2023 revealed that over half of investors feel they have not invested enough in their lives, with Gen X feeling the most underinvested, followed by Millennials and Gen Z. "With investors feeling anxious around their investment totals so far and tax season traditionally being one of dread, SoFi Invest’s 2% IRA match helps to close that gap and offer SoFi members more investment choices as they kick off their 2024 financial plans," according to the announcement.
In addition to the increased IRA match, SoFi Invest offers various investing tools and educational resources. These include complimentary access to Certified Financial Planners™ for personalized advice, fractional share trading options, and educational articles on topics such as investing and retirement planning.
SoFi provides a wide range of financial products and services through its three business segments: Lending, Financial Services—including checking and savings accounts—and Technology Platform. The company also operates a nationally chartered bank through its affiliate SoFi Bank, N.A., regulated by the OCC and FDIC.
