SoFi Technologies, Inc. and TMRW Sports have announced a multi-year partnership that will see SoFi become the presenting sponsor of TGL, a new team golf league developed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's TMRW Sports. The league's venue in Palm Beach State College will be named the SoFi Center.
Anthony Noto, CEO of SoFi, stated: "At SoFi, we’re on a mission to help people achieve financial independence to realize their ambitions." He emphasized the importance of building brand awareness through sports partnerships. Mike McCarley, founder and CEO of TMRW Sports and TGL, expressed excitement about the collaboration: "As our first and largest commercial partner, we’re honored to welcome SoFi as TGL’s presenting sponsor."
The SoFi Center is set to be a 250,000-square-foot venue capable of accommodating nearly 2,000 spectators. It will feature an air-supported dome reaching 75 feet in height and various advanced technological elements designed to enhance the fan experience.
TGL presented by SoFi is scheduled to begin its inaugural season in January 2024 with matches featuring PGA TOUR stars like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. The league aims to offer fans an innovative format combining technology with live-action sports.
The ownership groups for several teams have been announced, including TGL Atlanta led by Arthur M. Blank and Los Angeles Golf Club led by Alexis Ohanian alongside Serena Williams.
SoFi continues its mission as a digital financial services company while expanding its presence in sports through this partnership. Meanwhile, TMRW Sports focuses on integrating technology into sports experiences.
