SoFi partners with BlackRock for new robo-advisor platform expansion

SoFi has announced the launch of a new robo-advisor platform, expanding its automated investment offerings. The company, in collaboration with BlackRock Inc., is providing access to alternative asset classes alongside traditional and sustainability-focused funds. This initiative aims to offer sophisticated portfolios to retail investors who may not have significant financial resources or a wealth manager.

The introduction of this platform follows SoFi's early 2024 launch of alternative investment funds. According to SoFi, 81% of people are interested in alternative investments. The company aims to meet this demand with a low-fee, personalized approach available on an intuitive and educational platform.

Anthony Noto, CEO of SoFi, stated, "Our new robo platform bolsters our commitment to empowering the everyday investor." He emphasized that SoFi Robo Investing represents another milestone in their mission to build a comprehensive financial platform for members.

The Robo Investing product features always-on automation and expert-curated portfolios for a 0.25% annual advisor fee. Members can adjust their taxable and non-taxable portfolios according to their needs and choose from three portfolio themes: "Classic," "Classic with Alternatives," and "Sustainable."

Brian Walsh, PhD, CFP®, Head of Advice & Planning at SoFi, highlighted the value of the offering by saying, “The combination of these elements – high-value, automated investment opportunities – developed and personalized by financial experts – all paired with our members’ 1-1 access to CFPs – is what makes the whole package incredibly valuable when it comes to helping our members make progress toward achieving their long term goals.”

Interested individuals can try robo investing by visiting sofi.com/invest/automated/ or downloading the app. Current SoFi Invest members will transition to the new experience soon.
