Navy Federal Credit Union has announced the conclusion of its 2024 Student Loans Scholarship Sweepstakes. The sweepstakes offered eligible members a chance to win a $5,000 scholarship for college expenses for the 2024-2025 academic year. Three grand prize winners were selected, each receiving $5,000 for their educational needs.
One of the winners, Kaison M., a student at The Virginia Military Institute (VMI), expressed his gratitude and excitement about how this scholarship will support his future goals. He stated, “This prize expanded my relief and gratefulness to a financial level which further helps me push to get a commission into the United States Air Force at VMI.”
Another winner, Kim C., shared her enthusiasm upon winning, saying, “It’s not every day that this happens!” She emphasized the impact of the scholarship on her family's financial planning: “This will be extremely helpful. We had a goal to get my son through his first two years of college with zero debt. This has guaranteed that he will start his 3rd year in college with no debt.”
Caroline Currie, assistant vice president of education lending at Navy Federal Credit Union, commented on the initiative's success: “Here at Navy Federal Credit Union, we’re committed to furthering our members’ financial and life goals,” she said. “I’m thrilled for all of our winners, hearing how these funds will help them to achieve their future goals just goes to show the impact that our work can have in our members’ everyday lives.”
The credit union offers student loans designed to fill funding gaps when federal loans and other financial aid are insufficient. More information on college planning resources is available at navyfederal.org/makingcents.
