Navy Federal Credit Union has announced the recipients of its ROTC All-American Scholarship Program, recognizing outstanding students from the Air Force, Army, and Navy/Marine branches. The program aims to honor exceptional ROTC seniors across military service branches based on leadership, military excellence, scholarship, and service.
Since its inception in 2018, nearly 1,300 nominations have been received for this scholarship program. In 2024 alone, 219 nominations were submitted from ROTC units at 216 schools nationwide. Each Student of the Year is awarded a $6,500 scholarship and their respective Booster Club or Student Fund receives a $5,000 donation.
“We’re honored to celebrate the leadership achievements, community service and academic accomplishments of these cadets and midshipman,” said Jamey Shuls, an Air Force Veteran and judge for the program. “It’s outstanding to see the passion and hard work they’ve put into reaching their goals while helping others in their units achieve success too.”
Cadet Mikolaj Radaszkiewicz from St. John’s University (NY) Army ROTC is studying homeland security and military leadership. He holds significant roles within his unit such as Finance Committee President and Military Science Club President. “The importance of leadership in someone's life is that it provides purpose, direction, motivation and the reason why they get up in the morning,” he stated.
Adam Viener from the University of South Carolina’s Air Force ROTC studies finance, supply chain management, and aerospace studies with aspirations to become an Airfield Operations Officer or Logistics Readiness Officer. “My leadership style really starts with focusing on servant leadership,” said Cadet Viener.
Kennedy Adkison from Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Navy/Marines ROTC is pursuing aeronautical and astronautical engineering. She has held several leadership positions within her unit including MIT Company Fitness Leader. MIDN Adkison shared her inspiration: “My father serves in federal law enforcement so I grew up around the service community.”
The Students of the Year will be recognized as honored guests at the Go Bowling Military Bowl on December 28 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, MD.
