The American Fintech Council (AFC) has announced the addition of two new team members, Ashley Urisman and Denise Lauria, to strengthen its leadership in state advocacy and operations. This expansion comes at a crucial time for the financial services and fintech industry.
Ashley Urisman joins AFC as Director of State Government Affairs. She brings extensive experience in government relations, corporate affairs, and public policy. Her previous role was as Government and Regulatory Affairs Manager at Allwyn North America, where she led regulatory initiatives and managed stakeholder engagement at state and local levels. Phil Goldfeder, CEO of the American Fintech Council, commented on her appointment: “Ashley’s experience in government relations and her deep understanding of complex regulatory landscapes make her an exceptional addition to AFC’s leadership team.”
Denise Lauria has been appointed Operations and Special Projects Manager. With over a decade of experience in operations, project management, and event planning across various sectors including fintech, she most recently served as Meetings Manager at American Express Global Business Travel. Goldfeder praised her expertise: “Denise’s background highlights her impressive operational expertise and demonstrates a rich awareness of what it takes to create meaningful experiences for stakeholders.”
