The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) has announced the appointment of René Shonerd as its new executive vice president and chief information officer. In her new role, Shonerd will be responsible for overseeing the organization's technology strategy, ensuring that ICBA's IT operations are scalable, secure, and efficient. Shonerd brings over 20 years of experience in association technology. She has held leadership roles at various trade associations and worked as an industry consultant. For the past seven years, she has focused on IT assessments, strategy development, data governance, and process optimization for associations. Her skills are well-suited to support ICBA’s subsidiary network.
Shonerd holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Kent State University and a Master of Education from the University of Toledo. She is also recognized as a Certified Association Executive.
