The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) has announced the companies selected for its eighth ICBA ThinkTECH Accelerator program, known as AP8. This initiative is part of efforts to drive innovation in community banking through partnerships with fintech companies. The selected solutions cover various areas such as vendor management, check fraud prevention, integration, digital banking for families, conversational AI, and commercial lending.
Charles Potts, ICBA Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer, stated that "as community banks adapt to meet evolving customer needs and market demands, ICBA is fostering the connections that help reimagine what’s possible." He emphasized the importance of pairing community banks with promising fintechs to empower them in responding to market changes and strengthening customer relationships.
The finalists were chosen from hundreds of applicants through a rigorous selection process assessing sustainability factors like team strength, product maturity, and product-market fit. During the 10-week program starting January 13, 2025, these companies will work with industry experts and community bank leaders to refine their solutions for adoption by community banks. The cohort includes Coverbase Inc., Fin3 Technologies Inc., Fintegrate LLC, Incent.net, Posh AI, and Vine Financial.
Greg Ohlendorf, chairman of the ICBA ThinkTECH Selection Committee and president and CEO of First Community Bank and Trust in Beecher, Illinois remarked on the importance of technology in enhancing customer service at community banks. He noted that "the ICBA ThinkTECH Accelerator embodies the partnership between fintech innovation and community banking."
Since its inception, the ICBA ThinkTECH Accelerator has connected innovative fintech companies with over 1,400 community bankers and industry leaders to address modern banking needs. The program will conclude with a showcase at ICBA's annual convention in Nashville.
