Rocket Companies, a Detroit-based fintech platform, launched its "Own the Dream" marketing campaign during the second quarter of Super Bowl LIX. The campaign featured a 60-second advertisement that led to a nationwide singalong, engaging millions of viewers.
The ad paid tribute to the concept of home, using a reimagined version of John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads." It depicted scenes of Americans returning to meaningful places, from children playing in sprinklers to veterans reuniting with loved ones. As the message "Everyone deserves their shot at the American Dream. Own the Dream." appeared on screen, over 65,000 fans at Caesars Superdome joined in singing John Denver's anthem live.
Jonathan Mildenhall, Chief Marketing Officer of Rocket, stated: “From the start, this was more than a commercial. We set out to create a moment that captures the raw, emotional journey of chasing a dream that once felt out of reach.” He emphasized homeownership as foundational for financial security and prosperity.
The ad was developed by Mirimar agency in collaboration with Rocket’s creative team and directed by Matthew Dillon Cohen. It highlighted Rocket's mission to make homeownership more accessible and marked a new chapter in the brand’s evolution.
Rocket Companies was founded in 1985 and includes businesses like Rocket Mortgage and Rocket Homes. Known for exceptional client experiences, it has been ranked #1 by J.D. Power for primary mortgage origination and servicing multiple times.
