U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren has formally requested assistance from "X" CEO Linda Yaccarino to retrieve over 24,000 deleted social media posts of Bill Pulte, a nominee for the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). This request comes as part of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs (BHUA) Committee's review process ahead of Pulte's nomination hearing.
Bill Pulte, currently the CEO of Pulte Capital Partners and grandson of homebuilder William Pulte, was nominated by President Trump on January 22, 2025. The committee discovered that nearly all of his tweets have been removed in recent months. Warren emphasized the significance of reviewing these posts to assess Pulte’s policy positions and suitability for overseeing companies involved in $8.1 trillion in mortgage financing.
In her letter to Yaccarino, Warren stated: “I am writing to seek your assistance in gathering previously public information about Mr. Pulte that he appears to have deleted and is now hidden from the public.” She further noted the necessity for X to provide all social media activity from Pulte's account since its creation in 2009.
The senator pointed out: “To ensure the Committee can perform its duties, I request that you provide all of Mr. Pulte’s social media activity on your platform since he created his account in 2009.”
Pulte is scheduled to appear before the BHUA Committee on February 27, 2025. Warren has asked for the delivery of this information by March 3, 2025.
