JPMorganChase and Madison Square Garden have initiated a collaboration aimed at supporting small businesses in New York City. The partnership was celebrated with the launch of the "Chase Rookie Program," an event designed to foster networking and provide financial health workshops for local entrepreneurs.
The program, which took place on February 27, included sessions on credit importance and access to capital. These were led by Tayumika Zurita, Community Manager at JPMorganChase's Brooklyn Community Center Branch, and Franco Riofrio, a Senior Business Consultant with Chase For Business Coaching for Impact.
Steve Valiquette, former Rangers goalie and entrepreneur, participated in the event. He expressed enthusiasm about sharing insights with fellow entrepreneurs: “Entrepreneurship is all about adaptability and asking the right questions.”
Frank Nakano from JPMorganChase highlighted the bank's longstanding relationship with New York City: “JPMorganChase has been serving New York City for over 225 years. We’re proud to support our home teams at MSG and local entrepreneurs through this partnership.”
Since its inception in 2022, the "Spotlight Series" has featured 23 small businesses during Knicks and Rangers games. Businesses involved receive exposure on MSG’s jumbotron as well as a $10,000 grant from JPMorganChase.
Robert Rodriguez of JPMorganChase emphasized the significance of this initiative: “Local entrepreneurs are the foundation of our economy... This partnership with Madison Square Garden gives the entrepreneurs that my team and I work with every day a unique platform to shine.”
Nichol King also noted how such partnerships contribute to community development: “Every day, our team provides their neighbors with critical financial health education that helps create more vibrant communities.”
Participants were given a tour of MSG and engaged in discussions with Steve Valiquette and Quincy Moore from New York or Nowhere.
JPMorgan Chase & Co., operating under Chase in consumer banking, serves millions across various services including personal banking and small business loans.
