Phil Goldfeder, CEO of the American Fintech Council (AFC), has expressed his congratulations to Armen Meyer on his recent appointment as Senior Deputy Commissioner at the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI).
Goldfeder stated, "I’m incredibly proud to congratulate my friend and AFC co-founder Armen Meyer on his appointment as Senior Deputy Commissioner at the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation."
Meyer played a significant role in establishing the AFC. His efforts with colleagues and consumer advocates were aimed at promoting policies centered on consumer well-being and responsible innovation. Goldfeder highlighted Meyer's leadership in shaping AFC's core values: transparency, inclusion, and aligning pro-consumer policy with a vibrant financial marketplace.
Goldfeder noted Meyer's dedication to public service throughout his career, including his work during New York's financial crisis and helping LendingClub become the first U.S. fintech lender to acquire a national bank. He added, "California is lucky to have him back in government."
Looking forward, Goldfeder emphasized continued collaboration with Meyer and DFPI to foster regulation that benefits both consumers and responsible innovation.
