JPMorganChase and Coinbase have announced a strategic partnership aimed at expanding options for customers interested in cryptocurrency. The collaboration will introduce several new features designed to make it easier for Chase customers to access and use crypto services.
As part of the initial rollout, Chase customers will be able to link their bank accounts directly to Coinbase wallets using JPMorgan’s secure API. This integration is intended to provide users with a streamlined process while maintaining security and privacy standards associated with Chase.
Another feature of the partnership will allow Chase customers to transfer their Ultimate Rewards points into their Coinbase accounts. This marks the first time that a major credit card rewards program can be used to fund a crypto wallet.
Starting in Fall 2025, Chase credit cards will also be accepted as a funding source for Coinbase accounts. The direct bank-to-wallet connection and Ultimate Rewards point transfers are expected to become available in 2026.
“This partnership marks a significant step forward in empowering our customers to take control of their financial futures,” said Melissa Feldsher, Head of Payments and Lending Innovation for JPMorganChase. “By joining forces with Coinbase, we are enhancing the security and privacy of our customers' data, allowing them to use their money and rewards in new and exciting ways. With Ultimate Rewards, the most flexible loyalty program in the industry, our customers can now seamlessly and securely convert their points into cryptocurrencies."
“We’re excited to partner with JPMorganChase to onboard the next generation of consumers into crypto. Together, we are expanding choice and lowering barriers to entry for consumers to participate in the future of financial services onchain,” said Max Branzburg, Head of Consumer & Business Products at Coinbase.
Coinbase is focused on increasing economic freedom by providing a platform for trading, staking, safekeeping, spending, and transferring crypto assets globally. The company also supports infrastructure development for onchain activity.
