The American Fintech Council (AFC) has announced the appointment of Hudy Rosenberg as Deputy Director of State Government Affairs. Rosenberg will be responsible for strengthening AFC’s engagement with state policymakers and guiding advocacy efforts to promote consumer-centered financial policies nationwide.
Rosenberg joins AFC with significant experience in state government relations and policy strategy. She previously served as Senior Manager of State Government Relations at Major League Baseball, where she managed state-level engagement and supported legislative and regulatory strategies across the country. Before her role at MLB, Rosenberg worked in the office of New York State Assemblymember Nily Rozic, serving first as Legislative Director and later as Chief of Staff, contributing to key consumer and economic policy initiatives.
Phil Goldfeder, CEO of the American Fintech Council, said: “As states increasingly shape the policy environment for responsible financial innovation, Hudy’s expertise and leadership will strengthen AFC’s ability to advocate for effective, consumer-first policy solutions.”
He added: “Her strategic approach and deep understanding of state government will help ensure emerging financial technologies are supported by clear rules that expand opportunity and protect the people who depend on them.”
In her new position, Rosenberg will support AFC’s advocacy on a range of state policy issues such as fintech lending, earned wage access, open banking, and frameworks for responsible buy now pay later services. She is expected to collaborate closely with AFC members, regulators, and lawmakers to advance transparent policies that both safeguard consumers and broaden access to financial products.
Ashley Urisman, Director of State Government Affairs at AFC stated: “Hudy is joining AFC at a pivotal moment, as states across the country are actively considering legislation that will shape the future of financial services. Her expertise in navigating state policymaking and building strong relationships with legislators will be invaluable as we grow our impact in advancing practical, consumer-focused solutions that help responsible innovation thrive. Hudy’s addition to the team demonstrates that AFC is committed to remaining a leading advocate for fintech companies and their innovative bank partners across the U.S.”
Rosenberg commented on her new role: “Fintechis transforming how consumers access and manage financial tools, and thoughtful state policy will play a critical role in ensuring that innovation remains responsible, fair, and accessible. I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Phil, Ashley, and the entire AFC team, and I look forward to helping advance policies that strengthen financial inclusion for workers and families across the country.”
