Registration for the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Distance Series events has been announced. The series includes the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Chicago 13.1, and Shamrock Shuffle 8K Run. Participants who complete all three events in 2025 will receive an exclusive medal and guaranteed entry to the 2026 Chicago Marathon.
Carey Pinkowski, executive race director, stated, "We have been humbled by the incredible support the running community has shown the Bank of America Chicago Distance Series since its inception in 2023."
The application period for the 47th annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon opens on October 22 at 10 a.m. (U.S. Central Time) and closes on November 21 at 2 p.m. Entry costs are $245 for U.S. residents and $255 for international participants.
There are several ways to secure a guaranteed entry: meeting age-graded qualifying standards, being a legacy finisher with five or more completions in ten years, canceling a previous entry, participating through charity fundraising, joining via international tour groups, or completing the previous year's distance series.
Non-guaranteed entries will be determined through a drawing process with notifications sent out on December 12.

The fourth annual Bank of America Chicago 13.1 half marathon takes place on June 1, 2025. Registration is open with special pricing until October 22, after which fees increase from $102 to $112.
The Shamrock Shuffle kicks off the running season on March 23, offering an 8K run through downtown Chicago's Loop and other shorter events over that weekend. Registration is currently open with discounted rates available until October 22.
