On Friday evening, following the confirmation of Russell Vought as Director of the Office of Management and Budget, President Trump appointed him as acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
The American Financial Services Association (AFSA) extended its congratulations to Director Vought on his confirmation and new role at the Bureau. In a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, AFSA emphasized the importance of a well-functioning consumer credit marketplace with clear and appropriate regulations for both the American economy and consumer protection. "We look forward to working with Acting Director Vought on policies that both strengthen the consumer credit industry and ensure a brighter future for American workers and their families," AFSA stated.
