The Electronic Payments Coalition (EPC) has appointed Larry Seyfried as Managing Director of Federal Legislative Affairs. In this role, Seyfried will work closely with EPC Executive Chairman Richard Hunt to guide the coalition's legislative activities.
Seyfried brings experience from his previous position where he led coalitions and member services for the House Financial Services Committee under Chairmen Patrick McHenry and French Hill during the 118th and 119th Congresses respectively.
"EPC Executive Chairman Richard Hunt expressed confidence in Seyfried's capabilities, stating, 'Larry’s depth of policy knowledge and strong relationships, both on The Hill and across the industry, will be invaluable to EPC’s efforts.'"
Hunt further highlighted that as EPC continues to grow, they aim to protect the nation's payment system at both federal and state levels, ensuring benefits for consumers and small businesses.
Before his committee role, Seyfried served as Senior Vice President of Government Relations for the American Bankers Association. His career in Washington D.C. began as a policy advisor to former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor during Cantor's time as Republican Whip.
Seyfried commented on his new position: "I’m excited to join the EPC team. In this role, I look forward to working to ensure that American consumers, small businesses and community financial institutions continue to have access to our secure, safe and convenient payment systems."
He holds a degree from Indiana University at Bloomington.
