AFSA has extended its congratulations to Jonathan McKernan following his nomination by President Trump for the role of director at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). McKernan recently resigned from his position on the FDIC Board. His career includes significant experience in financial-services policy, with previous roles at the Treasury Department, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, and the U.S. Senate Banking Committee.
The association expressed its anticipation of collaborating with McKernan to "chart a new path for the CFPB for consumers and the consumer credit industry."
