The AFSA Education Foundation recently engaged with financial literacy advocates and educators at two key events. These gatherings allowed the foundation to highlight its free resources, including the MoneySKILL curriculum, and connect with leaders from the education and public-service sectors.
At the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) Treasury Management Training Symposium in Baltimore, Executive Director Rhonda Ashburn participated in a panel session titled “Supporting Educators: Financial Education Resources and Best Practices.” The session was moderated by Bill Parker, Director of the Tennessee Financial Literacy Commission. Ashburn shared insights on the growing demand for quality personal finance education and emphasized free tools that state treasury departments can use to enhance financial literacy efforts.
The AFSA Education Foundation also presented at the Tennessee Jump$tart Personal Finance Educators’ Conference in Chattanooga. Neysa Laux, an ambassador for the foundation, introduced teachers to MoneySKILL. Her session offered an overview of the platform and best practices for using it in various classroom settings.
These activities demonstrate the foundation's commitment to providing educators and state leaders with tools and support for delivering effective financial education.
