AFSA’s State Government Affairs team has expressed support for Pennsylvania House Bill 1860, which would permit certain employees of licensed motor vehicle sales finance companies to work remotely. In a comment letter submitted to the Pennsylvania House Commerce Committee, AFSA stated that the bill offers flexibility to licensees while ensuring secure services.
According to AFSA, employees covered by HB 1860 would continue to perform their duties under supervision and with technological support from home, similar to their responsibilities in an office setting. The organization emphasized that remote workers would not meet customers or store records at their residences.
AFSA noted that enabling remote work could result in cost savings, greater inclusivity, and improved ability to attract and retain talent. These factors are expected to contribute to higher employee satisfaction and better customer experiences.
The comment letter is available on the direct advocacy section of AFSA’s website.
