AFSA Chief Economist Tim Gill spoke to a group of economists and research leaders from various industry trade associations in Washington, DC this week. The meeting focused on sharing updates about business developments across different sectors and discussing data sources and research methods.
During his presentation, Gill reviewed the current state of consumer credit. He summarized recent data on credit balances, described changes in lending standards, and noted that there have been signs of stabilization and improvement in overall credit performance for several types of loans. Gill also presented an overview of the American Financial Services Association’s Consumer Credit Condition (C3) Index.
