The Bank Policy Institute (BPI) has announced the appointment of Drew Ruben as Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel on its Regulatory and Policy Affairs team. Ruben will begin his new role on October 22.
Paige Pidano Paridon, Co-Head of Regulatory Affairs at BPI, said, “Drew brings practical experience and deep regulatory expertise from both the public and private sectors. His fluency in payments innovation policy will enhance BPI’s work on payments issues at a critical juncture in this policy area. We’re delighted to welcome him on board.”
Ruben previously worked at the Federal Reserve Board as Senior Counsel in the Legal Division, where he focused on payments innovation and banking regulation. Before joining the Federal Reserve, he was an attorney in the financial institution groups at Davis Polk & Wardwell and Covington & Burling. Ruben is a graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School. He began his career as a management associate at Bridgewater Associates and co-founded a retail coffee company.
BPI is a nonpartisan public policy, research, and advocacy organization representing universal banks, regional banks, and major foreign banks operating in the United States. The group conducts academic research and analysis on regulatory and monetary policy, reviews proposed regulations, and represents the financial services industry on issues related to cybersecurity, fraud, and information security.
